Xi'an Jiaotong University is famous as oldest institutions of China and managed by Jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education. It was founded in 1896 in Shanghai named as Nanyang Public. But it was moved to Xi'an in 1956 and changed name as Xi'an Jiaotong University. Renowned as key university, it was incorporated in the primary group of universities for high precedence growth under seventh and eighth five year plans of the country.
XJTU is also famous as top ranked university in the areas of study such as management science, business administration and power engineering. The school of management is one of the top business schools of China.
The university has an extensive and world famous research hub, presenting research programs in the areas of science, engineering, management, medication, art, law, education, economics and philosophy. It has aim to maintain its academic excellence and train honorable citizens with strong sense of social responsibility. It has also committed to scientific inquiry and innovation. The university has also aim to accomplish threefold operation of learning, research and services to preserve their role as a leader and a pacesetter.
Xi'an jiaotong university consists of 20 schools, 8 undergraduate's colleges and 8 teaching hospitals and provides also residential facilities. Above 5500 faculties and staffs are working currently in the university, in which 2500 are full time teachers consisting of 1500 professors and associate professors. There are 30,000 students enrolled in XJTU including 13000 masters and doctoral students. More than 78 undergraduates, 200 master degrees and 115 PhD degrees are providing by university. It offers master degrees in 18 disciplines including engineering, business, clinical medicine and MPA. It has 59 major research centers and laboratories and 20 research conveniences for postdoctoral students.
