Keio University is a modern age of Japanese University which was founded in 1858. It is also known one of the oldest universities of the world, but in this modern era, it has lots reputation in education, research, social interaction, study of medicine, medical care and international collaboration. It was formerly known as schools of western studies and affiliated by ASAIHL.
The university has focused its endeavors on providing education in English based and several of research programs which help student to find outstanding learning atmosphere. Several of language programs and more than 180 courses are providing in English medium and also conducted degree programs in English through graduates schools and faculties, keio university has world level of 14 graduate schools and 10 colleges, provides highest level of education and research.
There are also carried out interdisciplinary studies. The university has 2,604 academic staffs and 2,722 admin staffs, who give their big contribution in making well educational environment of university. Total of 33,825 students are studying currently, in which 28,931 undergraduates, 4,894 postgraduates and 1,234 doctoral students.
Key mission of university is to provided advance learning and spirit of science. It have also aim to make people able to think independently. The university has made every effort in advance the excellence of education, research and medicine etc from its time of establishment. The keio university puts great efforts to maintain teaching faculty and outstanding facilities.
