IIT Kanpur is a leading institution of technology and science which has ranked 1st in India, 36th in Asia and 306th in the world. The university was founded in 1959 and organized by Ministry of Human Resources of Development. It has aim to provide consequential education to carry out high standard research programs and provide leadership in technology improvement for growth of industrialization in country. The campus has spread over 1200 acres and provides also residential facilities.
It is also the first institutes of India to set up computer science education. The remarkable thing is that its past and present students and faculty also spread over the world.
