Bogazici University is a Turkish public university, founded in 1863. It is first American university, which was established outer surface the US. Total of five faculties and two schools are under the university, providing undergraduate degrees programs and graduate degrees programs providing by six institutions. It has strong ties with the American educational system.
Firstly, the university was named as Robert College which renamed as Bogazici University after become state university. The university has faced rapid growth over the years and currently working on various projects to make excellence education. It has vision to achieve global excellence in teaching and research and becoming a sustainable university.
The main vision of Bogazici Universitesi is to strengthen ability in undergraduate learning and reaching a similar level in graduate education, boost competitiveness in educational research and amalgamation the best research in the world and developing a green and prolonging campus. It has also broad mission as Educating individuals who give their support to our institutional values, who value moral standards, who are environmentally wide awake, who can imagine significantly and who, with their scholastic and edifying formation and self confidence, are resourceful, creative and capable of being productively employed in educational institutions and in public or private sectors.
The university has also aim of producing universal knowledge and causative to serious thinking, science and technology while allocation civilization and growing the methodical possibilities in the country and provide big contribution in institutionalization of science, art and culture in the society. Bogazici University has 1007 staff including of university professors and other supportive staffs. Total of 12315 students are enrolled in the university, in which, 9428 undergraduates, 2040 postgraduates and 847 doctoral students.
